Very impressed with the staff and the quality of food. The place was full considering it was 5:30 on a Friday.....but we were seated promptly. Good vegetarian choices and our waiter was helpful with recommendations. Generous portions and quick service. The vegetarian Fajitas were awesome and the guacamole was very tasty. The only thing that would have been great......along with the other spices at the table.....some cilantro would have topped it off perfectly.

Great food at reasonable prices. They also have a small bar. I had the chicken burrito and rice lunch. Very good.

Great easy, inexpensive Mexican food. It's pretty standard, a little greasy, but authentic. I got the chills relleno and burrito combo. It was yummy. The food came out very fast and service was friendly.

Excellent authentic food. The service is top notch. I had the chicken fajita for lunch and it was fantastic. The restaurant is extremely clean as well. Check it out if you are in Battle Creek!

Best Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. I've been here so many times and I'm always trying something different and it never disappoints. Their salsa is the best ever! I can't get enough of it.

Came here with the family. Had the carne asada, tocos and the burrito. All of it was excellent. Service was very fast and food came hot. It took less than 5 minutes from order to the food on the table. All of the food was perfect temperature and tasted great. Would return often.

Really good service and good food. Was fresh and very tasty. Great spot. I had a steak burrito and it was tender and had a ton of flavor. I agree that the food was not typical "authentic" Mexican but it was still really good

During a recent trip up to Battle Creek (for golf), we decided to give this place a try. With all the great reviews, we were excited to sample their fare...but sadly it did not live up to the hype. Very much an Americanized-Mexican food restaurant with all the "typical" dishes and combinations. The chips were hot and fresh (to start the meal) and the salsa was a tad watery but had a nice kick to it...good start, we thought! I ordered a combo meal which included a chicken burrito and a ground beef taco along with refried beans and rice. My friend got a smothered burrito. All of the items simply lacked any kind of authentic flavors, which was a disappointment. Prices were good, service was fast...but the food was lacking. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news,

All around a great place! Many other people have said it better than I can, but just all around goodness here. I tried the fish fajitas, and was pleasantly surprised that each ingredient still held its own distinct flavor (as opposed to just all being marinated and softened in the same base), which when put together was awesome. Also I have to say, the chips and salsa were some of the best I've had. Very warm and thick, crispy chips, and the salsa was spicy and very cold. I truly loved the contrasts and mixture of the two. I'm giving it short of 5 stars simply because while it was a pretty good place, it wasn't magical. Server was very nice and funny, but wasn't totally on the ball either; forgot a few things (but got them shortly after), mixed up the bill, etc. Didn't hurt the evening, but was noticeable. Also the 'rest' of my dinner; beans, rice, the usual salad, etc., was only 'good'. Not at all bad and went well with the entree, but really a second place to the main course. I highly suggest a visit if you're in the area

This place and Nina's are the best Mexican food in Battle Creek, but it is Battle Creek. If you've lived here your whole life you've never had better. If you've lived further south it's a definite step in the right direction, but you've likely had better.

Simply outstanding food and service. I am traveling and hope some day to come back! Great value but even better is the taste. True mexican delight!

Great salsa, good food and fast service. Also kid friendly with reasonable prices. Happy hour and daily specials. Like this location better than Columbia Rd.

My go-to Mexican place. Food is always great and service. Fast and friendly. They will put you in a table to view the futbol game of your choice. Fave dish chili relillo but I can't spell it or say it right :/

Good. Authentic Mexican food. Very fast service. Attentive staff. Accommodated our party of 15 with a call ahead. The La Cocina burrito was excellent. Fajitas and burrito special were also enjoyed at our table. Kid friendly. Would definitely visit again!

We are not from the area and were craving Mexican. After reading the reviews, we chose La Cocina. Bingo! Food was excellent with that homemade flair, service attentive, ambience festive. Prices were very good. A lucky find traveling down 94 with a hankering for Mexican food! Skip crappy Don Carlos up the street and go here.

Passing through and thought we'd give it a try. I would say it was just ok. Margarita was really good. I had enchiladas and a beef burrito. Sauce on enchiladas tasted like spaghetto sauce. Meat in burrito dry and not seasoned very good. Would likely not return. My hubby enjoyed his Mexican flag combo.

Decent Mexican place- I usually order the Camarones a la Diabla, extra spicy, or the fajitas (half shrimp, half chorizo), also extra spicy. The waiters are really friendly and accomodate my group's little quirks, such as requesting a plate of just vegetables, extra mushrooms. Good place to go with a big group.

Very good authentic Mexican food. Good pricing, along with good service. They are currently on Beckley road, but they are working on a new location on Columbia avenue which is to open in March 2011. They also serve alcohol so you can get a beer or drink with your meal. muy bueno!

I have only eaten here a few times, but each time I have been very pleased with the service and the food. A great place if you like Mexican food. One of the best in the area for lunch or dinner.

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Battle Creek. We have dined there possibly a dozen times in the past few years and never disappointed.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
